The Southport Robotics program exists to prepare students to work at jobs that do not yet exist, creating ideas and solutions for problems that have not yet been identified, using technologies that have not yet been invented.  Southport Robotics works to encompass all FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics programs throughout Southport schools.  The teams participate in competitions held by FIRST, a program developed in 1989 to inspire more interest in the fields of science and technology. 

Throughout their FIRST experience, students gain maturity, build self-confidence, learn teamwork, and gain an understanding of professionalism. Students have fun while building a network of friends and professional mentors who enrich their lives, not just while they are on the team but for a lifetime.

Thanks to our generous supporters our program continues to grow.  We currently support a 7-8th grade FIRST Tech Challenge Team and a FIRST Robotics Competition team for our students from grades 9-12.
