Your child’s membership on the team makes you an important part of Cardinals Robotics Association. The CRA are parents, family members, mentors, sponsors, school staff, and those in the community passionate about supporting Southport Robotics program. This section is a guide to help parents understand their roles as members as well as the important functions of the team and its leaders.

 

The CRA is led by an elected board of directors who works with team coaches and mentors to set priorities, organize volunteers, and raise funds to support an approved budget. Active Members serve on committees for outreach, fundraisers, sponsorships, grants, travel, and hospitality.

 

The CRA bylaws are available online, and our primary purpose is to:

• Serve as the booster club for the Southport robotics by providing financial, volunteer, and organizational support.

• Encourage and advance the Southport robotics program and related activities to promote STEM education and the mission of the team.

• Support the mission of FIRST (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology) which is “to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting Mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership”.
