About the Southport CyberCards

The CyberCards, also known as FRC Team 1529, is located at Southport High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Since 2005, The CyberCards have aspired to create students who are college ready and provide them with the life skills to make them successful.

Our students and mentors have worked passionately to run successful outreach events and establish connections with the community, including those in the City of Southport and several elementary schools in Perry Township.

The mission of FRC Team 1529 is to create self-confident leaders who are career ready.

Mission:

The vision of FRC Team 1529 is to empower students by connecting them to their passions, inspiring them to become passionate experts, and encouraging them to communicate their passion with their community.

Vision:

Our greatest point of pride is that the Southport CyberCards are building a better future for both our teammates and our community. Constructing a robot is only a fraction of the amazing work accomplished every year by the CyberCards. Our mentors act as invaluable resources and guides, volunteering long days and nights to help us succeed. Students forge strong bonds with our mentors, ensuring that they are provided with a bright future, regardless of the path they choose. Students often gain insight from our mentors about career interests because they have a wealth of experience ranging from selecting a major in college to working in a particular field. Our mentors also assist us with applying for college by helping us do research on majors and scholarships available.

The CyberCards have had an extraordinary impact on both our students and community over the years as we continue to build a better future for everyone. We are more than just a robot, we are a family with a bond that gives us the strength to overcome any obstacle. We have risen to every challenge, and we are stronger as a team and as a team.
